Orchid - Purple

Light: Orchids require bright, indirect light to thrive.

Water: Usually watering once every 5 to 10 days will keep Orchids happy. Allow the water to sit in the pot for about 15 minutes and then drain thoroughly. If the roots are whitish or silver in color, it is time for water. Do not water with ice cubes!

Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix formulated for Orchids or use a mix of bark, perlite and moss.

Blooming: Blooms typically last 2-6 months. The more light the plant receives, the longer the blooms will last. After blooms are spent, trim the spike back to just above a node and allow the plant to go dormant but continue watering weekly. Usually this type of Orchid will bloom 2-3 times a year.
